Visage was the New Romantic band that began life in 1978 in the London, England nightclub ''Billy's''. At first, a band comprised Steve Strange, (a previous member of the cheesy band Moors Murderers) and DJ Rusty Egan (formerly a drummer by using The Rich Kids).

Midge Ure (who got as well been exposed using the Rich Children) was interested around working by having Strange & Egan, & a trio recorded a demonstration which involved their version of the Zager and Evans hit "In The Year 2525".

Using a addition of Ultravox's Billy Currie, and trio members of Magazine—bassist Barry Adamson, guitarist John McGeoch, and keyboard streaming video player Dave Formula—Visage signed to Radar Records and released "Tar" around September 1979.
